Science-Based Target Initiative Certification

Saverglass Receives Science-Based Target Initiative Certification and Sponsors Second Annual Napa RISE Symposium as Part of Its Commitment to Sustainability, Innovation, and Community

In celebration of Earth Month, Saverglass is proud to return as a sustainable service sponsor for the annual Napa RISE: Resilience, Innovation, Sustainability, Empowerment Symposium, taking place in Napa Valley, California, throughout April 2023.

Napa RISE, Resilience, Innovation, Sustainability, Empowerment, is hosting a unique six-event symposium around the six pillars of sustainable winegrowing leadership. With an impressive lineup and renowned speakers, including the world's most influential wine writer, Jancis Robinson, MW, Napa RISE is a unique symposium where industry leaders come together to set the highest bar for sustainability and climate action, individually and collectively.

The Saverglass team will be present at the following events to further discuss glass packaging and manufacturing sustainability: Energy Efficiency and Savings (April 5th), Waste Prevention & Supply Chain (April 12th), Proactive farming, Soil Health, and Biodiversity (April 13th).

In 2022, Saverglass received validation from the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi) on its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions per ton of glass produced from scopes 1 and 2. SBTi is a non-profit initiative and collaboration between Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), The United Nations Global Compact (UNCG), World Resource Institute (WRI), and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) mobilizing companies to set science-based climate targets and boost their competitive advantage in transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Recipient of the Ecovadis Silver Award in 2023, the only Universal Sustainability Ratings Provider, Saverglass, is in the top 25% of the most virtuous companies for sustainability.  Saverglass bottles are 100% recyclable; glass is the only packaging material with no deterioration in the physic-chemical performance of the bottles produced from recycled glass. This circular material leads to an endless cycle of re-use in which neither quality nor quantity is affected. Since 2009, Saverglass has started building and sharing its sustainable commitment based on pragmatic principles through proper reporting and data. In 2022, the company published a new Corporate Social, Responsibility (CSR) Report highlighting progress around its obligations to protect the environment, develop its employees, act for society, and efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
